Blending Portuguese folk poetry, Arabic cadences, and African and Brazilian rhythms, fado singer Mariza is the first Portuguese musician nominated for a Grammy and the winner of three BBC Radio 3 Best European Artist awards. Her multi-platinum 2008 album Terra features a mix of songs from Brazil, Cuba, Cape Verde, and Portugal. In her 2010 album Fado Tradicional she returned to her roots, revisiting classic songs in an intimate setting, backed only by acoustic guitar. With close-cropped blonde hair and belle époque gowns, Mariza infuses the timeless melodies of her homeland with a singular style.
Mariza will perform on May 15h in Bucharest at Sala Palatului Hall.
Tickets are available on www.myticket.ro, in Diverta stores, Muzica store, Mihai Eminescu bookshop and at Sala Palatului boxoffice, ranging between 85 – 215 lei.
